  How do I know when people outside of WordPress subscribe to receive updates on my blog?

  Go to edit your widget and add your “RSS” for people to subscribe.

  If you use the feedburner service to allow people to subscribe to your blog by email, then you can see who is using that service by going to your feedburner account page. If people subscribe to your RSS feed, there is currently no way to track that.
