  Hi,

  I am looking to set up a business website. This will be a gradual process before the site goes live approx. 6 – 9 months. Is there anyway I can start to build the website and see how it looks before the monthly subscription fee applies?
  Is there any way I would like to trial WordPress before committing to the annual fee?

  All WordPress.com upgrades need to be paid for annually (or for 2 years) in advance. You can always work on your free site for however long you like before upgrading.
  WordPress.com does offer a 30 day refund window for upgrades (48 hours regarding a domain refund).
