  Hi. I’m thinking of changing my free WordPress account into a premium account with its own domain name. I’m wondering, however, if it would be possible in the future to change back to a free account without deleting the site completely? Will I be able to change back to a free account at any time? Will the site or any of its content be deleted if I do? Thank you

  Your site will not be deleted if you revert to free plan, nor will any of your content be.

  However, you’ll lose access to Premium features – premium themes, CSS, access to live chat support etc will be gone. So, if you use a premium theme or CSS customization, your site will revert to a default theme available for free. If you cancel your domain, the address of your site will also revert to the free .wordpress.com one.

  Note that paid plans are billed yearly and you can only request a refund within the first 30 days, so it won’t make sense to change back to free plan ‘at any time’ – it will only make sense after a full year or within the first 30 days of your subscription.
