Subscription and blog
-
Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to change the world blog anywhere it appears in a WordPress site, with the word website, and if it is also possible to change the word follow with the word Subscribe. For the last case, I know you can edit the follow widget, but you cannot edit the follow button in the action bar. Also, even if you edit the widget, there is no option to edit the message ‘You are following this blog (manage)’ that it appears to the users that are subscribed.
One last question: I know that it is possible to hide the action bar on the right corner, by editing the CSS via the premium plan. However, when you hide it does is it also hides to you as well? Since it is really handy. Besides that, is possible to edit how the action bar appears or the only option for it is to either hide it or appear it.
Thanks in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi lazavad,
The language used for widgets is built in to WordPress.com so I’m afraid it won’t be possible to change the wording for areas like the Subscribe button.
We only provide the option to change the widget title or in some cases, like the Follow Blog widget, additional text.
Also, even if you edit the widget, there is no option to edit the message ‘You are following this blog (manage)’ that it appears to the users that are subscribed.
If you go to My Sites > Design > Customise > Widgets > Follow Blog, you should see the option to change this text underneath
Widget title for followers. However, when you hide it does is it also hides to you as well?
Yes — hiding the action bar using CSS will make it unavailable to you as well as site visitors. If you make the decision to hide it but still want visitors to have the option of following your site, the Follow Blog widget could be a good alternative.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
As far as the ‘Follow Blog’ widget is concerned, I am already aware of the possibility to change the title of the subscribed users. However, underneath the title of the widget, a description always appears to the subscribed users, which by default is the one I mentioned, with a link next to it in case you want to manage your subscriptions, called (manage). Is this description possible to change it? From your answer I get that probably it is not.
As far as the action bar is concerned, I would like to know if besides choosing between have it or hide it, there is a possibility to edit what it appears on it, and also if there is the possibility to only hide it for users who are not logged in on WordPress.

Ok, thanks for your reply.
It would be a good idea though if the follow blog widget included an option to edit this message too, especially since it provides you with the possibility to edit all the rest.

Hello again, I have a follow-up question. I would appreciate if someone has an answer for it.
Is it possible to put a MailChimp subscription form in a widget or the only possibilities is the pop-up and a form in posts or pages?
Thanks for your replies!

Yes, you do have a few options for that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/mailchimp/#alternatives-to-a-pop-up
