Subscription attempts are shown a ‘you have several pending subscriptions’ prompt when trying to subscribe using Jetpack
-
The message is as follows:
‘You already have several pending email subscriptions.
Approve or delete a few subscriptions at subscribe.wordpress.com before continuing.’I got this error, as did a few friends who tried to subscribe. On one account there were random pending subscriptions from as far back as 2012 that were somehow preventing the user from subscribing to the email list through Jetpack.
When using other Plugins (like CreativeMail) there was no such issue, however the creative mail signup form doesn’t seem to be customizable so I would much prefer the Jetpack signup.
How to I bypass this so that if people have pending subscriptions to other websites it doesn’t affect mine?

At this time, there is no way to bypass that.
The limitation is in place to prevent abuse of the subscription system (so you don’t, for example, collect 5,000 notifications about new bot subscribers who won’t actually read your content in 1 day).
Folks with a substantial number of pending subscriptions will either need to approve or delete them before they can continue.
