Subscription Expired to Website

Our credit card was changed at the time of an automatic renewal. Unfortunately, the individual who managed our website left our firm. Renewal email was in his name. I was not notified of the subscription expiration. How do we get out website back up and subscription renewed? Does WordPress not work directly with customers when a problem occurs?
