Subscription form block badly sized for mobile phone screens

    Hi,

I am trying to add a subscription form block to my homepage. This works fine for desktop and tablet screens, but when I preview it for mobile phones, the Subscribe button ends up skewed, with the letters appearing vertically in order to fit the button in. How can I fix this without drastically reducing the size of the email field?

  • Hey there! I don’t actually see a subscription form on the site right now — are you able to add it so we can see what you’re seeing?

Great job with the pictures on your site, by the way!

Hi, thanks for taking a look.

I’ve re-added the subscription form to the bottom of my homepage so you can take a look. As you can see, when viewing from mobile the “Subscribe” button is skewed. The only solution I can think of, is for the Subscribe button to be either re-sized or on a new line when viewing on mobile. However, there doesn’t seem to be a way to change how it looks depending on screen size (hope I’m making sense!)

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

I see what you mean. There’s not enough space, so the text breaks over two lines.

The only solution I can think of, is for the Subscribe button to be either re-sized or on a new line when viewing on mobile.

The block settings allow you to both change the width of the button as a percentage of the total width of the block, or you can set it to display the button below the text box, instead of next to it:

But those settings will affect all screen sizes. There’s not currently a way to have different settings for computer and mobile screens.

I did some searching, and it seems this behaviour of the button is intentional – this was done to prevent the text from overflowing the button. But there is a request open for our developers to revisit it, and I’ve added your report there.

If there’s any change, we can let you know, but I can’t make any promises at this point.

    Hi,

Thanks for looking into it and adding my report to the existing request. I’ll have a play around with re-sizing the button in that case.

    Thanks again for your help
