Subscription notification timing & password protected

  I want to password protect a post.

  My idea was that I would include the password in the post so that subscribers would receive the password in the subscription notification, then I would edit the post and delete the password, meaning that only subscribers would know the password.

  However, I then thought about the timing. Given we can all flag our subscription notifications to “weekly”, would this mean that the generation of the subscription notification email would be before or after I removed the password?

  Then, we can also access subscriptions from the Subscriptions page and receive no email notification at all, so which version would show there?

  What about RSS feeds?

  Have I made your brain explode yet? I’m just not sure if this will work, so I’m seeking advice!

  Not certain that password protected posts have their protected content pushed out to subscribers, so putting the password in the body of the post would defeat your purpose.
