Subscription Privacy Question

  I am new to blogging… and even newer to taking a chance / look at WordPress.
  When someone (hopefully) subscribes to my blog. Will I be given any information / notification? i.e.:
  – Will I be given a notification? Via email?
  – Will I be provided any information? Who? How? To what reader?
  – Is there a way to know how many subscribers I may have?

  If WordPress does not offer any stats on this, do other blog “engines” offer that? Please advise…

  Sorry – Like I said, I am SOOOO new…
  I am currently dot COM… my intentions were to start poking around on dot COM and get a feel for if I would like to stay here (provided I can get a unique domain name) – or if I would like to host the software on my own domain…

  Does my post / question have different answers depending on which version I am using? Please advise.

  Did you read the link I provided? Yes, the answer is different, because the software is different.

  If you are going to “poke around” .COM, I strongly suggest you spend some time in the FAQ and hit the support link at the top.

  Wow, you’re a peach, aren’t you? Oh, and thanks for not even attempting to answer my question. It was truly appreciated. Does anybody else out there have any input that actually responds to my question? I thought it was fairly simple… Maybe I was wrong.
