tried upgrading my plan and i got the message below, ‘The transaction was declined. Please contact support quoting error AXLZNE’. what do i do?

the registered domain cannot be selected as the primary domain. each time i try to make it the primary domain, it ask me to upgrade it

You will need a paid plan to use a custom domain as primary. Since the first year of registration typically comes with a plan, we can refund you the domain price if you’d like to upgrade.

As Supernovia mentions, to use a custom domain (even one registered through us) with your WordPress.com site requires a paid plan:

That is why you are being prompted to upgrade when you attempt to use your purchased domain as your primary site URL.
There should be prompts to follow when you get the upgrade message. If not, you can go to My Site → Plan or use this link:

ok. have done the upgrade. how long will it take before the domain will be visible in the address bar?

It’s already working for me, so it should start working for you soon too. If it hasn’t, try quitting and-re launching your browser window.
Also, as I mentioned before, your plan includes the domain price free for the first year (as a promotion) so I have refunded your domain fee for you. Next year you’ll pay for both, but for the first year the domain is free with a plan.
