Subscription Sign up form
-
Hi there,
I’m on the free WordPress plan a the moment and was wondering if there was a way to add a static sign up form to my home page. The only one I have managed to add is a Mail Chimp pop up. It would be great if this was implemented through Mail Chimp too. is this Something I would be able to do on a monthly plan or is there a way around this?My blog is tonycardle.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
Besides MailChimp, you can add a contact form to the site and customize the fields.

I have a similar question except that adding the mailchimp embedded code to my theme karuma does not seem to work. When I add it to the html section I can see it the way I like it but when I preview or upload it it will not show the input boxes. Is this a known problem with the theme I’m using or am I missing something? I’m currently using the wordpress contact form but need to use mailchimp.
Thank you in advance :)

re: wordpress.com blog subscriptions
All that’s required to follow any blog hosted by wordpress.COM is exactly what you were required to provide to register here, and that is a valid email address that the published posts can be sent to.
Here subscribers control their own subscriptions and frequency of receipt of posts from sites they subscribe to. We cannot act on their behalf.
You can set up email subscriptions here > Appearance > Widgets > Follow Blog Widget by using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
Widgets can be configured to appear only on certain pages (or be hidden on certain pages) by clicking on the Visibility button.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityWe have a subscription shortcode which you can make use of. The help page on it is right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/ You can also include the subscription shortcode at the end of every post you publish.
Staff have recently added the mailchimp widget for subscriptions and here is the link to the guide you must use https://en.support.wordpress.com/mailchimp
Additional information:
You can create a Subscribe page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ add and customize a contact form with multiple fields, change the email address where you’ll be notified, and mark feedbacks as spam from your dashboard on that page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/Read more at https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=following

You had the form added to your site’s sidebar, but as the sidebar doesn’t load on the front page the code was never run. I’ve moved the widget to your site’s footer widgets, and now the pop-up form works.

It’s not possible to embed the mailchimp form on a page, no. But there is a workaround:
1) Set up your form in MailChimp, and take a screen shot of it.
2) Create a page on your site, and add the screen shot using the Add Media button.
3) Link that image to the form on MailChimp.
This way it will look as if the form is on your site, but if someone clicks it they’ll be taken to the actual form on the MailChimp website.
