Subscription system bugs?
-
Our subscriber list appears to not be updating itself. I don’t see the names of known subscribers (they are receiving the email alerts) when I look at our active subscribers. I need to be able to track it to address any questions from subscribers, and also just to get accurate data as we grow our list.
Also, this is a question about another WordPress blog I run (www.esocialife.com). That theme does not come with a subscription widget, and I have been trying to find a plug-in that replicates the look and functionality of the subscription widget on my other WP blogs. Can you pinpoint me to such a plug-in? I have come up empty-handed after searching WordPress forums and Googling for several weeks… it’s frustrating! Thanks so much for your help.

It can take some time for the subscriber list to update. About how long about did these individual subscribe?
As for your other blog, try this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe2/

The Email Subscribers list is a list of non-WordPress.com users who have subscribed. The WordPress.com Subscribers list is a list of WordPress.com users who have subscribed either by using the built in WordPress.com subscription reader or by email. You cannot see if a WordPress.com user is subscribed by email or not by looking at that list because it is saved in each WordPress.com user’s settings. So, if a users subscribed through their WordPress.com account, you won’t be able to see their email in the list, only their username. Also, pending subscribers who have not completed the email activation step for a new subscription will not show up until they activate.
The total number of subscribers should update if new users are getting added. You cannot post email addresses to the forums, so please send a private request at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ including an example email address you expect to see subscribed that isn’t listed and we can check it out.
I’m sorry but there is not currently a WordPress.org plugin equivalent for the WordPress.com subscription feature. I think other people generally use outside services. You may want to ask in the WordPress.org forums what other people have done to offer subscriptions on their WordPress.org blogs.
