subscriptions

    Hi Guys
Is it possible to have a way that subscribers have a choice of what they subscribe for. As an example one person may want to subscribe to the monthly newsletter and that is all but do not want an email every time their is a new post about monthly sales, the next person may want to subscribe to the latest monthly sales but do not want an email every time their is a new post that is a newsletter. Is there a way that this can be done ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can do this by tagging your posts with the appropriate category and then offering subscription via feedburner using the RSS feed for each category.

At present it is not possible to do this with the email subscription widget offered by WordPress.com.

    Hi justjennifer
I did the feed through feedburner, I don’t understand the next bit about giving them the option about subscribing to a certain catergory and putting the code in a text widget. If I put hte code in a widget in my side bar will that mean I will have to have say 3 widgets in my side bar that are visible ? I thought that it would be possible to have it so that when they subscribe it comes up with a screen asking what they would like to subscribe to?
    Thanks in advance

You would have to set up a feedburner subscription for each category feed, such as http://yourusername.wordpress.com/category/homerenovation/feed/ but that doesn’t mean you’d have to have a different text widget for each subscription.

In the blog linked to your username I don’t find any feedburner subscription option. Is it appearing on a different blog and if so, can you give us the address, starting with http:// so that we can take a look?
