  From what I’ve researched, the “confirmed subscription” autoresponder that is sent back to a new subscriber to my site cannot be changed in any way as it’s truly a generic WP autoresponder.

  If that’s correct, what options might be available to quickly (and perhaps automatically) respond to new subscribers so that they could receive a text and/or file link to download a page or a file? Is there any efficient way to do this other than monitoring and manually sending an email?

  I’m sorry but I’m not aware of any automatic options.

  The problem with sending them an email when they subscribed to Posts and you send them something else is that in some areas it is considered spam and illegal.
