Subscriptions

    Hi,
I am trying to set up ‘subscriptions’ on my website, but I have been trying for so long with no success. I recently moved from WIX to WP, and one of the reasons for my move was that I thought this process might be easier on WP, but I still can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve been talking to WooCommerce, as I thought they had something that would work for me, but the suggestions they gave me didn’t really match my wishes.

My website is a page for Norwegian teachers, where they can download both paid and free worksheets etc. for the classroom.

This is what I want from the subscription: If a person decides to pay for, let’s say a monthly subscription of 10 euros a month, they get to download 10 products for free from my store. This means, I kind of want the subscription to be based off of a membership where the client receives an X amount of tokens/credits every month/year, based on the subscription they have. I would also like for these tokens/credits to ‘roll over’ to the next month, if not used in the current month.

Is there any way for me to make this possible? When I talked to WooCommerce they offered me a subscription plan where the customer receives coupon codes every month that they can use in the store, but I am not interested in this option. I want it to be more ‘member’ and ‘credits’ based.

I am not sure where to start trying to figure this out, and that’s why I am now reaching out to you at WP, to hopefully retrieve some answers, and if not, maybe get pointed in the right direction. For reference, I would also like to add that I have little to no experience with programming, and that I am pretty new to WP in general. Hopefully you can help :)

    Kind regards

  • Hi there,

We do have a way to run a membership site, detailed at https://memberships.blog/ but that would be simply restricting content to paying members.

We don’t specifically have a way to limit the number of downloads as you’re describing. Once they pay, they get access to all restricted content.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!
