Subscriptions not always working
-
A friend of mine has not been able to subscribe to my blog. She used to get email updates but hasn’t received one since July 23. She has tried unsubscribing and resubscribing using the subscription widget. I can see her listed as a subscriber but her email is not on the email subscribers list. What is the difference between the two kinds of subscribers, BTW?
Thanks for any helpThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy,
First, the two different types: WordPress.com followers are those who have accounts with WordPress.com. They could view your site through our Reader at http://wordpress.com when logged in as well as receiving e-mails based on their preferences (based on clicking on “Blogs I Follow” on wordpress.com when logged in).
E-mail subscribers are those who do not have an account on WordPress.com and the only possible “connection” would be the e-mails that we sent out.
Either set could get e-mails, based on their individual settings.
In addition to checking her settings, we’d ask her to confirm her e-mail address is right and that the messages haven’t been routed to her spam/junk folder.
I hope that helps. If she still has trouble, please do encourage her to contact us and we can debug with her.
Thanks for being such a long-time user of WordPress.com!

Thanks for your response and explanation of subscriber types. My friend is now able to receive notifications so all is well.
Thanks again,
Bill
