Substription personal data

  Hi, I’m relatively new to WordPress.

  I’m looking to setup a blog from my organisation, where visitors can subscribe to receive notifications. Please can I get confirmation on whether or not my organisation will be responsible for the relevant personal data (email addresses, etc), data rectification, deletion, etc?

  Hi @odie0011,

  As far as responsibility for personal data is concerned, there are two levels:

  1. Responsibility of safely storing that personal data once it has been captured lies with WordPress.com, as they host the free WordPress.com sites.

  2. Responsibility for deleting that personal data off of your site if it is requested by a subscriber (whose personal data it is) is yours and is done through your dashboard.

  If you would like to be absolutely sure, get in touch with WordPress.com staff for confirmation by either going here: https://wordpress.com/help/contact, or tagging this thread for staff to see. You can do that by typing modlook into the Tags entry at the bottom of the right-hand sidebar on this page, and clicking Add.
