Suburbia posts – where no photo is featured
-
Hi.
See my blog at http://hughleonardplaywright.com/
Where I have no image to post as a featured image, the title appears in pale text against a pale grey background. See the post about Leonard and McGahern. It is hard to see and not clear to new readers. I have not been able to change this by changing colours under Customize.
Any ideas about how to remediate. Thanks very much.

If you have the Custom Design upgrade–and if you are able to change your site colors, you do, than the following bit of CSS should do the trick.
Just go to your customize menu (the same place you go to customize colors) click the CSS link in the menu, and paste the following into the box that pops up:
.attachment-thumbnail-placeholder{ color: #666666; }I chose a dark grey for the text color that I thought matched your site, but if you want a different color we can do that too by changing the hex code.

Thanks! Will give this a go when feeling serene. It will be my first go at doing anything with CSS but one has to start somewhere.
Will post again when I’ve done it successfully.

One of the benefits of having your site hosted on WordPress.com is that there is very little you can do to cause permanent damage. I find that really reduces my anxiety about trying new things with my sites. Good luck!

If not, no worries. We are always happy to provide code snippets in the forums.
