Suburbia theme display issues

    Using three different browsers (Firefox, Safari, and Chrome) whenever I go to a WordPress.com site that uses the Suburbia theme (including my own) the front pages all display wrong. They all cut the header photo in half and toss the portfolio of posts halfway down the page. It displays correctly, however, when I look at my own site through Appearance>Customize. I cleaned out the cache and cookies in Firefox and nothing changed. Any ideas?

    I have not done anything fancy, and as I said, this applies to any theme running Suburbia that I go to.
