Suburbia Theme Help
-
Also since I changed to the Suburbia theme, my pictures haven’t been showing in the email notifications when a new post is live.
Featured images won’t show in email notifications. If you would like images to show up in the email notifications, you should embed them in the posts directly.

@zeccalady, to get featured posts working on the Suburbia theme at WordPress.com, make a couple of your posts sticky:

Hi @designsimply — Is it correct to assume that featured images in Suburbia will not show up at the top of the post itself, unless they’re also embedded? I just switched over from Intuit and would love to replicate that feature in this layout. (http://magpieandwhale.wordpress.com) Thanks!

In the case of both Suburbia and Inuit Types, the home page shows featured images, not embedded images, and making them sticky will make them show up at the top. I wouldn’t always assume one theme will work like another. Each theme can be unique and have its own set of options.

So, I am just trying to figure this out, I haven’t done any real posting…but I’ve thrown up some test things, and my images aren’t showing up. They are there once you’ve clicked on “Continue reading” but they don’t show up on the home page. I’ve even made one of them a “sticky post.” How can I make the images visible on the home page?

I checked the blog linked to your username http://brittandersen.wordpress.com/ and I can see an image working on the home page right now.
Note that if you were using the Suburbia theme before, only featured images show up for posts on the Suburbia home page. Here’s how to set them:
