Successfully Uploaded Sitemap, only a Handful of Posts Show up on Google

I have uploaded the sitemap to Google Search Console, the status is shown to be “success”. Yet only a handful out of 160+ posts show up in Google search.
The few pages that are searchable became so after about a day after the sitemap upload. Yet, weeks later, the rest are still not searchable.
Is this normal? Is there a way to fix this?

Hey there,
WordPress.com does not have any control over when or how Google includes the content from search results. Content can sometimes take days or weeks to appear in Google search results.

Thanks for the Reply!
I was just wondering if this is common. The fact that some posts did show up in search results make me think there’s something wrong with the rest of the posts. But I really can’t tell.

Hello again,
The answer is yes, that is possible.
You can, however, request a re-crawl of your website.More information here:
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/crawling/ask-google-to-recrawlThanks! :)
