Sudden change in tab appearance/visibility
-
I have a blog through wordpress.com, the Twenty Eleven Theme, with no custom design. The menu bar immediately below my header image, where the tabs for each page of my site are displayed (Home, About, Diary, Projects, Contact, etc) has just changed without warning. Previously it was black with white text. However, it has just turned white and rendered the tabs themselves invisible. The tabs and their dropdown menus are still there and working, and appear if you float over them with the mouse, but disappear again when the mouse moves away.
This change occurred without any related action on my part – I was only proofreading and making small changes to text. I didn’t make any adjustments to the theme, colour scheme, or menus, and I don’t know html so haven’t messed with any of the code. I’ve perused the various help menus and skimmed through the help forums but haven’t found any answers. I’ve already tried logging out and back in, restarting firefox, and clearing cache and cookies.
Please help – my site is non-functional until this is sorted! Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All better now.
We enabled background color changes for all users—previously that could only be changed with the paid Custom Design upgrade. One glitch is if users ever set a background color while trying before buying in the past, that color could be applied in some cases, which appears may have been what happened in your case.
I saved the colors back to the default and the menu appeared as expected.
If you need anything else, please let me know. Cheers!
