Sudden Drop in Jetpack Unique Monthly Visitors Count

    Hi, I’ve been tracking my site’s unique monthly visitors through Jetpack/WordPress stats. On August 10, the counter showed 618 unique visitors for the month. However, by the evening of August 11, the number had dropped to around 130. As of August 12 (8 a.m.), it’s showing 147.

    What’s odd is that if I add up the daily visitor counts for the month so far, I get 715 visitors. So there’s a huge disparity between the daily total and the unique monthly visitor number, even if I take into account repeat visits.

    Is this a known issue, a bug, or an intentional change in how Jetpack calculates monthly unique visitors? Any insights would be appreciated.

    The same happened to me this morning between 11 and 11:15. Approximately 1800 visitors disappeared from my month and year totals.

    This issue is a known recent bug. Our developers are aware of this and working on a fix. There shouldn’t be any action you’ll need to take once the fix is in place.
