Sudden drop off in followers, traffic & issues with RSS feed

  i have had a sudden drop off in followers and I’m not getting the emails i once did. Also, my RSS feed appears to not be working. In fact the new stats page shows little activity

  I’ll address all your issues below…

  I am not seeing a drop of in followers to your site. Can you explain? Thanks!

  I’m not getting the emails i once did.

  Which emails are you expecting, but not receiving? When did this change?

  Also, my RSS feed appears to not be working.

  I ran a validation test on your feed (http://cowpasturechronicles.com/feed) and it appears to be working. Can you explain why you believe it isn’t working properly?

  In fact the new stats page shows little activity

  Your stats page isn’t displaying a huge difference in hits. Can you confirm how you know your stats are not correct?

  Once I have answers to my queries above, I can troubleshoot the issue further for you.

  Thanks for your help. It may be me. On 1/30/15 I had 454 followers; on 2/10 it only showed 409, a difference of 45. It has been gradually increasing but a drop that size seemed unusual. The emails, are probably a result of a me changing some preferences on followers. And, when I try to place the feed (RSS) widget on my blog, it pulls up my email. Appreciate the info and help.

  Thank you so much for the follow-up. This all makes sense. I think you’re right. The only question I had was about your RSS Feed widget. I’m wondering why you’re adding it to your site. You don’t need to add your own RSS feed to your site. This widget is really for adding the feed from another site:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-widget/

  I don’t want you to muddy the aesthetics of your site, if you don’t have to!
