sudden false jump in email followers

  under “follow blog by email” I suddenly have 314 followers and I know this is not true. Or at least I was not notified by email this was true. Has someone hacked my account??

  Do you publish your posts to Twitter? I noticed that my blog recently started showing my Twitter followers as followers on WordPress. Take a look on your site stats page in the “Totals, Followers, & Shares” block. That breaks down where your followers come from.

  My Twitter followers are shown in the stats summary, but they are not listed as email followers at all.

  Also, some months ago there was a problem with email subscribers and Support fixed it up. My post about it was here http://teamoyeniyi.com/2011/05/16/admin-note-to-email-subscribers/ and I wasn’t the only one. Support sis sort it out, so I suggest you report any anomolies to Support.

  thanks, all. It was a non-issue after all. It did, indeed, count my twitter followers as email subscribers! All is well, and thanks for the replies. :)
