Sudden increase in visits

  The visits had a tremendous increase that I cannot explain. I like it a lot but it seems too extreme that I think it just a mistake. I was getting 250 visits on the average per day and all of a sudden in the middle of the afternoon it took off…to over 4000.
  Can somebody explain what is causing this or when it’s going to end? I am not complaining, but I would like to know.

  I have had the same – all the increased traffic shows as coming from WordPress.com – clicking on the link just goes to the front page.
