Sudden spike in foreign page views
-
Good morning,
I’ve noticed over the last few days that my page suddenly has an influx of views originating from foreign counties. Typically, I have views from the US and Canada, and maybe an occasional UK view, but now I’m seeing several views from Hong Kong, Romania and Greece.
Perhaps this is solely coincidental, but it seems odd that all of a sudden this happens. I’m really just curious if others have seen this or maybe it’s just IPs redirecting to foreign lands?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I know nothing about stats yet, but I think the answer is probably within your blog itself. Perhaps football has received an upsurge in Romanian interest? Or mouth-breathing has become an epidemic in Hong Kong? Maybe Grecians are telling their friends about your Photoshopped images, helmet repairs techniques, or interior designs? Or maybe there’s something about your front page…something that I can’t quite put my finger on…say, you guys aren’t famous or anything, are you?
As long as the viewers aren’t asking you for money to pay their mother’s hospital bills, I would think it’s okay.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. If they aren’t asking for dough, it’s all good.
Thanks for your response, it seriously made me laugh out loud.
Have a good one buddy.

Look at the referrals – are they from another site or a foreign search engine?
Sometimes a person will stumble across a blog entry and pass it on to their friends. A few months ago someone in Finland put on of my articles on their Facebook page and I had 60++ page views in a couple of hours from Finland – so stats happen
