sudden spike in views?

    About a month ago I saw a severe spike in views in one day. When I asked about it here, WP said that it was a problem with spam views that they were trying to fix. It didn’t happen again, until today – I’m getting a whole lotta views all of a sudden.

    Does anyone know if spam views are still a problem? Is there anyway for me to tell if these are legitimate views? I can’t tell from looking at my site stats if it’s real people or not.

    Spam referrers will show up in the Referrer section, you can report them to the staff and they should remove them. One of these days I would not be surprised to see a click on box to mark spam referrers as you can now for comments. If you had just a spike in traffic it could just be that someone liked your site and told their friends. Either way your blog is not at risk other than the irritation of funny stats.
