Sudden spike in views but not matching data on SharedCount

  One of my posts on making a minion cushion has suddenly gotten 920 views today, whereas typical views for me are below 50. The number of visitors is also high – 800, supposedly from Mexico, Argentina and Chile and referred from Facebook. I looked up a few similar threads in this forum and saw one link to http://sharedcount.com to check how many times a post has been shared on social media. It says the post was only posted on Facebook a few times with one like. Not sure what I’m worried about but any reason why this might be happening?

  Well, Sharedcount.com is far from definitive; it says my blog has 28 FB likes when it actually has 1168.

  I would disregard data from that site completely, actually.

  Thanks raincoaster. Unfortunately I don’t think my blog is as popular, none of the stats are changing except for hits and views for one post… And I’m getting more fake followers linked to blogging tips/how to make money :/
