Sudden spike on my blog post from a particular region

    Hi, today I observed a sudden spike on one of my blog post from UK country/region, as the stats are showing. For date 11/4 my this blog post gets normally 25-30 hits every day, but today I saw 453 hits on this post. And in parallel I also saw unusual number views from UK i.e. 456 views, and I used to get around 40-50 views. SO, I feel 453 hits on this post and 456 views from the regions has some relation as the number is close. Any idea on this?

    Hi there,

    Spikes like this can happen from time to time. It usually happens when someone shares a post on your site, and it’s interesting enough that all their friends/followers also visit that post, and sometimes other posts on your site. It’s essentially the post going viral at a small scale :)

    It’s nothing to be concerned about – your site has not been compromised, and these new visitors don’t pose any risk to your site.
