Suddenly 100s of tabs on my top level menu !!!???
how to restore to an earlier version of my top level menu?
Any idea what caused this?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s strange. I won’t be able to tell how you ended up with that.
I suggest you first delete the existing menu from https://profhugodegaris.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php screen and add a new menu with only the required pages.

There’s a sitewide problem currently that has removed most theme customizations including custom menus.
Staff are aware of it. Please see this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/header-and-all-customisations-gone?replies=263
Be patient.

my top level menu is back to normal, thanks. What happened? Was it a screw up in the company’s programming? A hacker attack? What? I’ve not know anything like this from wordpress in the years I have had my site with you.

According to the sticky at the top of the forums’ home page, Staff advised:
Our team launched a change earlier today that caused problems for customizations you made to your site’s appearance, such as custom header images, custom backgrounds, and custom menus. We’re very sorry for the disruption in your site’s appearance. We fixed that problem, and most sites are now back to normal.
