Suddenly, I am getting lots of Spam.

    Hi.
    I am noticing a significant uptick in spam messages. Fortunately, your spam filter is catching it. (Thank you for that!) Still, everyday it seems I am waking up to 15 to 20 comments in my spam folder. used to be 3 to 4 a week. Did I do something that might have triggered this? most of them seem to be something to do with Airlines (when I hover over the link).

    Again, thank you for catching all these, I am just curious about the quantity.

    You may be surpised to hear that 10 -15 spam comments caught by Akimet is an extremely low number. Most of us are experiencing hundreds every day and those with wordpress.org installs can experience thousands. The bact and overwheliming amjority of all “information” ciculating on the interenet is spam. Over 80% of all so-called comments submitted to blogs on this .wordpress.com domain every day are spam.
