Suddenly I can no longer comment on other people's blogs. Why?

This has happened just recently although the ‘like’ facility still works.

What happens when you try to leave a comment? Please be descriptive. Are you logged into WordPress.com when this happens? Does the comment just “disappear”? Does the comment appear as waiting for moderation?

I’ve suddenly found that I can’t ‘comment’ on the blogs I follow, although the ‘like’ button works. What’s going on?

Whether I’m logged on through wordpress or via my bt email, whatever I type disappears when I press the comment button.

Also, it doesn’t seem to happen on all blogs. One comment I made last night worked fine. But not so with others, even ones I follow or they follow me.

There are now several bloggers having the same problem. Comments are being treated as SPAM. If the recipient unspams the comment, then it seems you can post comments on again on that particular blog. Is Word Press getting a handle on this problem???? And how would we know?

Hi-Staff have replied that blog and forum comments have seen an uptick in legitimate comments being marked as spam.
