Suddenly, many images are missing
-
I migrated my blog yesterday and all was well. This morning most of the older and archived posts’ images are missing – text is there but not the pictures.
I am using a free version; is there a quota on images?
Thanks in advance for help!
JoeThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Correction: all pictures are missing now, but a small square is barely visible and is linked to view a larger of the image.
-
Many people have reported missing images, so I’ve flagged this for staff attention. Where did you migrate the posts FROM?
-
Migrated from Yachtblogs.com which also is a WordPress platform.
Thank You raincoaster, makes me feel better knowing I am not alone with this problem….. :>) -
Is the source blog deleted? It might be useful if not, because sometimes something needs to be fixed and the import needs to be re-done.
Commonly, if the import only hotlinked to the images rather than imported them to the Media Library, and the source blog is set to Private, the images vanish even though they still exist. Staff can sort this out.
-
Source blog is deleted, but I imported from an exported XML file which is saved on my computer.
Also, please note that all was well the day I imported the files for at least 30hours or so, AND I have seen the pictures just this afternoon show up for a couple of hours, thought all was well but now they are gone again…..
The image files must be there because if you click the little square in place of the images, they open up in large format no problem. Thanks again!

Hi there – in this post:
http://cruisingdog.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/tenakee-springs/
The image path is still pointing to your old site on yachtblogs.com:
Unfortunately, since you’ve already deleted the original site, you won’t be able to re-import, since the images no longer exist on the original site. Is there any way to restore the original site? Please let me know.

Well, I can see that. But look at them; some point to Yachtblogs and some to WrodPress!
This one for example points to the right place but you have to click it to open up a larger image: http://cruisingdog.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/picture-0011.jpgThey all worked fine for about a day and a half after importing – I went through the whole site here to ensure all worked well, BEFORE I deleted the original.
WordPress.com does not say anything other than to simply export from one to the other! That is what I did. Something is wrong in the system.
This is so frustrating. I didn’t go with Blogger, just so I didn’t have to take a chance going through converting the files – I felt safer going from one WordPress platform to an other……….
Please let me know if you think of something.
Many many thanks,
