Suddenly unable to format text

    I’m in the middle of creating a new post, using the visual editor, and no longer can select text color. If I highlight text and click on the color box, the cursor returns to the top of the page and no formatting is possible. I’ve done everything I can think of, including completely re-entering all of the text as a new post, and it simply isn’t working. I can do italics, bold, etc., but the color function is kaput. Any advice or info?

    The problem began approximately 0800 CDT.

    Try deleting your cookies and cache then close your browser
    and restart your browser… =)

    Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn’t help. When I click anywhere in the text box now, I’m taken to the top of the page. I don’t know html, but when I went into the html editor and copied the formatting tags from previous paragraphs, the color changed properly.

    So, it must be a problem with the visual editor.

    I ‘ve had the same problem recently the HTML tag wouldn’t change
    so I had to click the HTML tab and manually delete the tag…

    The more you fuss around with the HTML the more you will/
    learn it takes time but the color tag will have numbers a letters
    and the beginning of tag in front of the word your trying to change
    the color of will look like this <color tag here> and the end tag
    will look this by the word your trying to change </color tag here>
    minus the wording “Color Tag Here”…

    Thanks for the note. I understand that – I’ve been using hex numbers to change color with the visual editor, clicking on “more colors” and then inserting the appropriate number.

    If I select the text first and then click the color palette box, it will not allow me to go to “more colors”, and it will not allow me to choose a color from the standard palette.
    The only way to change the text color is to go into the html editor and manually change the hex number there.

    And, if I click on my text in the visual editor, an entire block of text is selected, rather than the cursor simply being placed where I wish.

    I have to click two or three times to have the cursor “take”.
