Suggestion for theme

    Hi,

I’m helping some friends who need a web site for their upcoming movie release. I’ve been going through all of the available themes and struggling to find something which matches up with what they like. Before I spend any more hours prowling through the themes I thought I would ask for advice.

They are after a fairly simple site, a large background image per page with a simple, opaque navigation bar across the bottom. The example they have given me is this one (the Flash crap is not important): http://www.sonyclassics.com/aneducation/

Does anybody have any recommendations for what the best starting point for this would be? I’d prefer to do it with wordpress.com but if I have to go the wordpress.org path I will.

Many thanks for any and all suggestions.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Something very similar (minus the flash crap) could be done here with many themes, but it may be best to start with either Sandbox or Toolbox (both blank canvases) and then do all your own CSS to style things just the way you wanted it.

The most control though would be on a .ORG site where you would also have access to the underlying theme files. We don’t have access to those here. All we have access to is the CSS via the Custom Design Upgrade.

Thanks for the thoughts. I’ll have a look at those two themes and see what I can come up with. In the mean time I’ve been playing with Twenty Eleven and Mystique and it looks like I might be able to what I need with them.

    Cheers.
