Suggestion for twenty fourteen theme
-
I recently switched my blog to the Twenty Fourteen Theme. I noticed that when using the gallery for photos its almost pointless to caption your photos because 2 reasons. ! – When hovering mouse over photo it shows only a small amount of caption and cuts the rest off and 2. When the photo is opened in the gallery it does not show the caption at all. Whats the point of writing anything about the photo you posted if no one can read it anyway? It would be great to get the theme updated to where the photo captions are viewable per photo when the gallery is opened. Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Different themes handle captions in different ways, in this case Twenty Fourteen uses a popover to display the caption when moused over, which is a stylistic touch the theme author settled on for this theme.

You may be able to tweak this slightly using CSS if you are familiar with CSS code. In this case, you could set the height of the caption to 100% instead of 50%, which would show twice as much of the text.
For example: https://cloudup.com/c1MADw33Jvi
Other themes may handle captions in a way that is preferable, if this issue is really critical for your site and CSS is not an option.
