suggestions

All, I have a few suggestions.
1. I think all themes should have an option for local tags, not just one theme.
2. Possibly related posts, this should be improved to say that you can specify weather your blog will get trafic from this feature but not show it on your blog, show it on your blog but don’t allow other blogs to link to yours, or do nothing at all.
3. We should be allowed to use our media space however we want. In other words, I don’t think I should have to purchase a space upgrade to upload audio if I’m not sure I’m going to use up the 3 gb of space that comes free with the blog.
4. Last but not least, when you post a topic in the forums, you should have the option to be notified by email when a post comes in on a topic you’ve signed up for.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. Been discussed here in the forums hundreds of times. Not likely to happen as the global tags pages are not only a benefit to wordpress.com itself, but also to all who blog here. The global tags pages have a huge amount of search engine juice, and every blog that appears on them shares in that juice. That is one of the reasons blog here have consistently higher search engine ranking than those hosted elsewhere.
2. Don’t think this is going to change either. It would not be fair to allow you to put your hand in the candy jar and disallow others the same privilege.
3. Could happen. I’d certainly support this although the upgrades are part of what pay for this free blogging service. They have to pay for all the server and data center and bandwidth they use. Google and MS (Live Spaces) piggy-backed onto their existing server networks, which are so huge that the blogging and such doesn’t even make a ripple in their cost.
4. That would be nice I think. You can add it to your favorites or subscribe to the feed. Still, I’ve seen threads here on hot topics get 50 or 75 replies in 8 or 10 hours, and I would not want 75 emails coming in.

A few comments, on issue 1, I’m not saying that the global tags pages should be completely elimminated, but to have to pay $14.97 just to save one line of code to hide the global tags is a little rediculous, wouldn’t you agree? I know that many people have said that switching themes would fix the issue, but I really don’t want to change themes. One more question on this topic, would my blog get trafic from the global tags pages if I hid them from other users? On issue 3, that’s why the space upgrade would stil be there, I’m not saying we should eliminate it, but I wanted a website much like my current one a couple of years ago, and I carefully calculated that I would need about 600 mb of space for the audio files that I wanted to upload. So why should I have to pay for 5 gb of additional space if I’m not sure if I’m going to use all of the free 3 gb?
