suggestions on moving a site managed by an independent company
-
So, I’m feeling like I was misled by a company whose major selling point was that they would set up, run and manage a new website for me, and all I would have to do was provide the pics, and details. What I wanted was an e-commerce site, but that is not what I got. So, would it be advantageous to move the site to WordPress, and is it easy to do? I purchase the site I own now by the month if that helps at all.

Dear @pirate723,
we, as wp.com community will answer you that yes, transfer is likely possible, that on a Business or E-commerce plans you can have an e-commerce (using WooCommerce plugin).
But we can not answer to you is it easy or not, it depends on many things, at least on your skills and time you can spend on that. I mean the honest answer you will get from someone out of this forum, from someone who can do that task for you. One of the possible scenarios is that its easier to create a new website based on WordPress.com.
