Suicide Prevention

I’m aware of the option for reporting wp.com content that promotes self-harm or suicide. That option is available to WP logged in users. My question: is there any particular reason wordpress.com is not listed on this page under the heading You may also contact the safety teams at the social media sites listed below

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t understand why you think that ought to be registered on specific WordPress.ORG site like the one you linked to above.

Just saying that WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different. WordPress.ORG provides peer support forums and free software for self hosting only. There is no Staff there.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ Those with WordPress.ORG software installs have many different web hosts and all such matters are reported to web hosts, not to WordPress.COM Staff.

Okay, I will explain. That site is a subdomain of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since its inception, the Lifeline has engaged in a variety of initiatives to improve crisis services and advance suicide prevention.

The fact that it’s a wordpress site, and whether it’s self-hosted or not, is completely irrelevant in this case. They have partnered with different social media sites to aid in suicide prevention.

If you go to the link I provided in the post above, it will be more clear why I asked the question. The purpose in me asking was to a) ask if there was any reason wordpress.com is not partnered with them or listed there, and b) to bring awareness to the staff about that pages existence so c) wordpress.com could determine if it’s something they feel would be a good thing to check in to.

It seems the reason you posted here was to lobby WordPress.COM Staff to list WordPress.COM policy links on that site. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response.. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Hi Andrew,

My question: is there any particular reason wordpress.com is not listed on this page under the heading You may also contact the safety teams at the social media sites listed below

From the looks of it, the owner of that site has collected and listed the resources they know about on that page. I’d recommend contacting the site owner directly to suggest they add WordPress.com there. :)
