Suki Blog layout

Hi – I’m trying to figure out how to change the top post on my Suki blog. I thought that the first post would change every time I wrote a post and assigned it to the specific category. So far I have written a few posts in that category, but the top post and photo remains the same one that I posted months ago. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks in advance for our help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

You’re referring to the blog shown in the slider. Is that correct?

Those posts are included because they have the tag “backyard bouquets” attached to them. You can see this tag listed under Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Content -> Tag Name. Can you try adding this tag to some of your more recent posts?

That was it – “Tag Name” I had it in my head I needed to have the correct category to add it to that slider. Thanks so much.

Hi again Jeremy – I have another question that I am not sure you can help me with or not – I am trying to make sure this site is indexed in Google and other search engines. I’m thinking it’s not, as it is not showing up in basic searches (i.e. “local flowers, Maryland”). I added that information to the tag line under the blog title, but I’m not sure this is enough. Where do I start in correcting this?
    Thanks again..

    Hi!

It looks like your site is appearing in Google search results. Here’s what I see when I search for “butterkupflowers.wordpress.com”:

Unfortunately, we have no control over how your site appears in searches for other elements like “local flowers, Maryland.” Google decides how to rank pages in various searches. However, we do have some guides on SEO that you can use to hopefully boost your rank:

    I hope that helps!

thanks Jeremey for the last response. I now have other Suki blog ?’s to bother you with…isn’t there a widget to add a “live” email address or ‘contact us” link where when you click on it, the email page pops up for the reader to start typing…?

Also – where does one look for an “order form” sort of page or widget – so that readers can place on line orders?

    Thanks again,
    Bethany

We don’t have a specific widget for that, but you can achieve this by inserting the following text into a Text Widget:

<a href="mailto:(email visible only to moderators and staff)">Email</a>

Just change the email address following “mailto” to your email, and edit the “Email” text to say whatever you would like (Email me here, for example).

With a bit of customizations to the fields, I think a contact form will be able to achieve what you’re looking for:

Can you give that a try?
