Summaries not appearing?
-
Hi there, first time posting in the forums (as I’m trying to get myself motivated to keep my blog a little more up to date!)
I decided to change the layout of my front page, as I have a couple of very long blog posts, and they’re taking up a lot of space! So, after searching around I found out that you can make the posts on your front page “Summaries” instead of “Full Posts.” I thought this was great, so used this feature. As it has saved, the settings don’t seem to have been applied to my front page, as the full posts are still being displayed! As I read earlier on your site, I found out that it should only be the first 55 words.
Is there something I’ve missed or am doing wrong? Should I be using the read more options in the text editor before I publish an article?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

The summaries instead of full posts option only applies to your blog’s RSS feed, so it will not change the way they display on your front page.
However, you can truncate blog entries so that only the first part of certain posts is displayed on the home page using the more tag:

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the clarification.
I’ll be sure to read up and try that stuff out to make my front page a little neater. :)
