summaries on front page
-
Hello.
I know how you split content (http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/) but that creates a link on the front page, and since the header is already linking to the post I don’t think it’s necessary. I tried to use excerpt, but it doesn’t seem to work, how do I know if my theme supports it? Can I extend a theme to support it? I am currently using Almost Spring by Becca Wei.
In the tags section I want only the topic of the post to be shown, and not even the summary.
Look for example how http://en.blog.wordpress.com/ works. Seems to be more or less exactly what I’m looking for.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you want no visible link, insert the more tag and add two spaces right after the word “more” (in the html post editor).
As for which themes support excerpts as well as what happens in archive pages, you can consult these posts of mine:

Only if the theme you’re using supported Excerpts. What you can do is have the more tag show up as just three dots, this way:

@ panaghiotisadam,
Hey, that’s a cool tip – about having the more tag as just three dots.
