Summarizing Posts on the Front Page
-
My blog is http://brimeyblotter.net
Is there a way to have each entry I write NOT be shown in it’s entirety?
I would like readers to be able to see a paragraph or two, but have to click on the entry to get the full text. This way, I can see which of my articles or short stories are read the most.
The current default seems to show all of each post I make… So if I write a short story or a lengthy article, it’s all right there.
Thank you in advance,
Brian Stearns :)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have to do it post by post using the more tag: http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ . Pay particular attention to the section at the bottom of that page about formatting issues. Basically you want the more tag to be a separate paragraph. Do not put it in the middle of a paragraph, or at the end of one, or within a blockquote, ordered or unordered list, and do not put it within text formatting tags such as bold, italics, etc.
