Summary

  I would like to have on the main page the summary of 5 posts. For every post it usually appears the entire text, but I would like just a piece o it on the main page, so that if someone likes the first lines, he will want to read it all, so he will click on it.
  Please help me with this problem. I’ve searched in all controll buttons I have, but all I could find was a summary for feed, which , by the way, I don’t know what they mean. Thank you. :)

  Always provide a link to your wordpress.COM blog when asking questions in the forum. And consider linking it to your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

  If you are hosted here, please do a search on the More tag and on excerpts

  You can use either the “more tag” to split posts so that only the first part will appear on the home page, or the excerpt field in the post editor to create custom summaries to appear there instead. You can see instructions for these options here:
