Summary of posts

    When I go into Settings-Reading there’s an option for full text or summary for each article but the summary one doesn’t seem to work. Is it not applicable for my theme?

    Hey there,

    That setting is specifically for posts in your subscription feed. This includes emails sent to users who get updates to your blog by email, as well as your blog RSS feed (a stream of your blog posts that automatically gets updated when you publish a new post). The setting does not change how posts are displayed on your homepage.

    You have 2 options for showing summaries on your homepage:

    – Use a different theme that automatically shows excerpts. This is good example of one – https://en.wordpress.com/themes/hero/
    – You can also create your own using the “insert read more” button in the post editor. More info on that can be found here – http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
