Summary option not working?

  I have ticked the ‘summary’ option under reading settings as I’d like to display only as summary of the posts on the front page, however this doesn’t seem to do the trick.

  I found one related article in support, which advised to do exactly that. Moreover, I have used this setting on another blog (also wordpress.com) and it seems to work, so can’t work out what I’m doing wrong :(

  The summary option only affects your blog’s RSS feed.

  For the posts on your blog, you’ll need to manually split them with a more tag: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
