How do I create a summary post or “at a glance” visual of a particular post? Instead of the long verbage, I just want a small summary shown? Can anything in skeptical be shown on the left???
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think your may mean you doe I spit content. If so then there are several means of doing that see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/
The most common one is to insert the more tag http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ -

No that’s not how the blog is designed. See the theme description and live demo:

This is great – thanks. Except…is there a way to insert the more tag (or something equivalent) and then not have that part repeated in the blog when you drill into it? What I want pre-“more” will be repeated in the post-“more” section, just with much more writing and detail. I hate to have people say “read more”, and then in then entire blog post see repetitive information. Or should I use a different function.

Please go to the front of the blog linked to my username and click any Continue reading → link in any post. What you see is what you get and that’s a link to wherever the text broke because when you click that link you are then viewing the full post on its own page.

The only way to do it is to create a completely separate post and making the actual blog post on a separate blog, then linking to it.
