Summary vs full artice
-
Hello all,
Having trouble with me blog displaying a summary of the article instead of the entire thing. I clearly selected the box that says “summary” instead of full text on the reading tab…any ideas?
Also, in the sharing tab i’ve also selected open links up in new window but it seems to be re-directing on the same link…any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
site is: http://savinsomecash.wordpress.com/
thank you all!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On the Reading page you set the RSS feeds to “summary”.
With regard to posts we cannot just click a button and have beginnings of post display on the front page. You must edit the posts you have published and insert “the more tags” to split the content. Thereafter you will have to insert “the more tag” into each post before you publish it. See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
There are themes that do automatically display only beginnings of posts on the front page of the blog. They are Fusion, Hemingway and Inuit Types. There several ways to split content on blogs at wordpress.com. including manually inserting (1) The More Tag, (2) Next Page (Pagination), (3) Page Jumps, (4) and choosing a theme that provides Excerpts.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/Note that is most themes the excerpts function is dead. See here for a breakdown > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/the-excerpt-function/
Regarding Category pages also note this and note also that we cannot change the display for Category pages. It’s coded into the template which we cannot edit so if you do not wish to have gull posts display you will have to switch to another theme:
In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

Edit the post in question and in the HTML editor look for >
target=”_blank”
If that is not appearing then the post will not open in a new window. If you have a persistent problem with this then please contact Staff with your details. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ -
