Summary vs Full Text Post Display [SINGL
-
So even when I choose summary, it doesn’t work. The theme might just be stuck this way, but I figure if there’s a fix it’s gotta be CSS.
Cheers for any help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. You chose summary for your RSS feed. It’s not an option for your blog itself, just the feed. If you want to truncate posts on the main page either choose a theme that does that or use the More tag, the one that looks like a dotted line going across a sheet of paper. Put it where you want the break.

Hi, you can read more about the Read More tag here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Hi there,
The “Summary” option (I suppose it’s the one in Settings > Reading) only applies to RSS feeds, not on the site itself.
On the site, whether a theme displays a summary/excerpt or full text depends on how the theme was coded. Some themes do that, some don’t. The theme you use, for example, is coded to display excerpts automatically on search results page, but not on the main archive pages.
This is not something that can be fixed with CSS, but you can use the “More tag” feature to split your content and only show partial content on your homepage and archive areas:

Huh, I tried using the more tag but it didn’t seem to work, I’ll keep at it. I just a posted a different ticket for a solution from a different angle. Hopefully that is something that can work, maybe maybe not.
Thanks for the help!
